Questions about local visibility
Do I need a Google Business Profile?
For local visibility, yes. The map results at the top of a local search come from it, not from your website. Without a profile your website can still be found, but you will not be on the map where most people look first.
Why do you measure at multiple points?
Because there is no single position in Google Maps. Someone searching two streets away sees a different order. By measuring a grid of points around your business, you see how far your reach really carries instead of one figure that just happens to hold on your own doorstep.
Close to my business I rank at the top, but further away I do not. Is that a problem?
A Maps position can differ per measurement point. The heatmap shows how that pattern changes around the business. A more complete profile or more reviews does not guarantee a higher position, but complete and up-to-date information helps visitors judge the business.
I do not have a shop, I work at customers' homes.
Then you set a service area in Google instead of an address. The scan works the same way: we measure around the area you serve, so you see where within that area you do and do not appear.
