Clarity connection FAQs
What do I need to connect?
A Microsoft Clarity project of which you are an admin, and the API key you create there in two clicks. You paste that at the right project in your FlowCore console. Clarity itself comes from Microsoft and works on any website.
Do I also see the recordings and the heatmaps here?
No. Microsoft does not pass those on through the connection, so they stay in Clarity itself. We show the figures and their trend, and add a button that takes you straight to the right Clarity project. A screen that pretends to have the recordings would only leave you searching.
How often are the figures retrieved?
Once a night, per project. Microsoft allows ten requests per project per day, and we don't want to spend those on page views. If a retrieval fails, we say so on the screen: Clarity only passes on the last three days, so a missed day can no longer be retrieved. We leave those days open in the graph instead of drawing a line through them.
Is this the same as Google Analytics?
No, they answer different questions. Google Analytics tells you how many visitors you get and where they come from. Clarity tells you what went wrong on the page itself while they were there. A page that draws a lot of visits and delivers nothing is rarely explained by the first and usually by the second.
What does this mean for the privacy of my visitors?
The connection only retrieves aggregated figures: counts per day, no data about an individual visitor and no recordings. What Clarity collects on your own site, you manage in your Clarity project and in your cookie banner; that is separate from this connection.
